UI > Tactical - Add directional scan option for a 5s auto refresh; ok, I can see an argument for imposing a manual workload requirement while fighting so it's easier to overlook further incoming hostiles when overworked - but it is a bit tedious, isn't it.
* Targeting multiple ships can reset the entire locked target order (lock 5, allow to finish locking then lock two more and see where they go); As logi, I want cap chain targets in the same place, kthx. Put new targets at the back of the queue. That this doesn't happen anyway is probably a bug.
* Manually resortable watch list; As logi, I may want to sort the watch list by function, meaning that most of the time I have to clear out the whole thing to logically order it. Permit me to drag and drop names, so that I don't have to remove/readd multiple people to restore. - Clear entire watch list; Maybe I won't want this with the above, but why not? Sometimes you will want to start over after a fleet reconfiguration, (i.e. your CS pilots from before, don't have them now) without having to drop and rejoin fleet.
- How about if the tactical overlay did the missile velocity x flight time calculation and overlaid a theoretical optimal weapons range sphere like e.g. for turrets?
UI > Flying / Controlling Ship * Allow to preset own list (even if max <= 10) of orbit/keep at range ranges. * Allow to 'keep at range' on cans, stargates, wrecks, probably other things.
- Surely if I want to 'engage' (default: f) with mining drones I want it to 'mine repeatedly'. Currently no map exists to simply 'do the most obvious thing'. - Can't 'assist' ec-300's to allies, or maybe the other types, if I ever used them.
- It's far, far too fiddly to click to overheat modules. Even a tag that sticks out over the module would be far better then trying to click 2 pixels over the ring. I'm sure with some thought better could be done.
- Isn't align and approach functionally the same? see Q/A fast hotkeys. If the target is off grid/warp range and I 'approach', that's aligning to it. If I align to an object 20k away, that's approaching it. In meatspace both operations are simply 'move closer to X on a direct line'. Free a key, duplicate their function, anything that actually makes sense.
UI > General - Combat log; option turn off drone damage indicators. They do about or less than 10-20% of the damage output on most ships. I don't need to know if i'm not in a drone boat, and really don't want to. It drowns the data I want.
* Stop server downtime spam. I don't want to actually click, read or acknowledge this. I know about downtime. It's really just annoying, and I don't even live in a TZ where I'm having to click this 3 times is during my prime time. At least for standard downtime, make it stop, or hide it or if nothing else, just warn me once, via the 5m timer. And save the 'warn on standard downtime' thing with the other 'never bother me again' boxes. * 'Interstellar News' - at various places in 0.0, I think cosmos constallations (for a specific example, see 9-VOOQ; in fountain (also see, how I can't tell you if either 'O' is 'zero' or 'letter o' because TQ font)). I don't need to know this stuff the fiftieth time I pass through the gate. Make them go away.
UI > Bugs * The 'you are jammed (, target painted, etc)' indicator sometimes/always get stuck and repeats forever until dock/change system (possibly an artifact of it having to redraw when a second effect is on you, then leaving the first running forever. Testable with any npc's that jam, as well as players).
UI > POS * Allow the order of the structures in the running processes tab to be specifically set, so that yourself and other people (other accounts) can see them in the same order, universally. So I can link (especially) silos in a sensible order /and they'll stay there/. And nearly everything else with poses (geneva convention? 2 or 3?!?) but I appreciate this is being worked on already.
UI > Wishful Thinking - It would be really useful if I could type, in numerical input boxes like '100m' and have it autocomplete to 100,000,000 (k,m,b, (t?)). Probably not a 'little thing'. For distances, allow (in say, the dscanner) '4au' or '900m' (assume km). When you move focus, or apply/scan/enter, try to autocomplete in some sensible way. This would be useful to nearly everyone.
Scaffolding > - All those logfiles that get left around from chat channels, combat logs, you could clean up (zip, delete) with the eve client. Ask explorer to open the folder with them in sometime. It'll take minutes to even list them.
Also, the following is neither small or functionally making-things-easier changes but it's not stopping anyone else, so > - explosions of subcaps are weak; especially for BS / BC sized ones. I know why they're like they are, rather than complex and spectacular multi-part breakups, with secondary explosions and stuff but they really are underwhelming compared to say, the 11 year old freespace 2. I hope this is one thing to be looked at for the next visual upgrade. - how about have 'news' have more news. As in, way more. Farm the job out to people for isk. There could even be a different 'channel' per empire and one or two neutral (oho ho ho) ones. - an off switch for the adverts/bounties in CQ. You're being exploited. Sit and watch it for a few minutes sometime. - cut down high sec incursions being so easy/profitable. One every 2 weeks maybe, I mean really the empires are either winning, or not. They surely don't just sit still while an outside power /farms their citizens for use as drones/. Have some big finale like 20 simultaneous incursions, GM's camp jita stargates a few days and then cut them down. In 0.0/low - spool them up to balance, which would lure people out, if they want the money and which is supposedly where it's to be found. - the empires don't really have an ingame persona, to be honest. /* Off-topic end. */
